Lessons

My teaching philosophy

As a teacher, my goal is to help students of any age develop a strong technical foundation on the violin. This includes establishing good posture, a relaxed bow hold, and the ability to produce a beautiful, clean tone – the building blocks for all advanced violin techniques.

Having dealt with my own violin-related pain, it is particularly important for me to work with students on injury-prevention and help them find a comfortable and natural way of playing.

But learning the violin isn’t just about mastering technical skills – it’s also an opportunity to foster a deeper relationship with oneself by developing valuable life skills such as discipline, self-evaluation, problem-solving, and confidence.

Leading students at a Suzuki recital

My teaching approach is inclusive and caters to students of all skill levels. I have enjoyed working with violin students from around the world and offer online lessons for teens and adults. Please note that I do not offer online lessons for children under the age of 13, though I do have a limited availability to teach children in-person in the Chicago area.

I currently have room in my schedule for new students. To book a consultation for online lessons (teens and adults only), click here: Online Consultation. To inquire about lessons for children, please send me a message.
